Your primary responsibility will be to handle import of data from customer locations and recreate the data in the local database. You should help the Engineering team in trying to re-create the customer database environment locally. You should be strong in Oracle (8i/9i) with exposure to Data import/export handling and utilities, to ream and interpret import log file, dictionary management including extend management, understand how tnsnames.ora works and be able to connect through sqlplus and understand how to run a script. You should manage Unix file systems, mirrors, partition and disk management. You will also be working with file compression and decompression utilities on both Unix and Windows NT platforms.
